Avi Shmailov, known by his stage name Astrix (Hebrew: אבי שמיילוב), is an Israeli trance music DJ and producer, renowned for his work in the subgenre of progressive psychedelic trance. In 2006, Astrix achieved the 41st position in DJMag's Top 100 DJs annual ranking, alongside several other Israeli musicians, with Infected Mushroom ranking the highest at #9. The following year, in 2007, Astrix climbed to #18, marking a significant representation of the Israeli electronic music scene on the global stage.Beyond his personal career, Astrix has continued to shape the genre through Shamanic Tales Records, his record label dedicated to releasing psychedelic trance and other mind-expanding music. The label serves as a platform for both established and emerging artists, further cementing Astrix's role as a key figure in the evolution of psychedelic trance.
